Angus Wheat Consultants (AWC) has appointed David Lloyd as senior wheat breeder to join their team based at Woolpit, Suffolk.
Dr Lloyd graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London in biology, then moved to the University of Nottingham to earn his PhD, and has held a series of research posts including Rothamsted Research, the John Innes Centre and Durham University.
He joins AWC from Syngenta Seeds where he ran the field nursery team before joining the company’s germplasm development team.
“My conventional and hybrid wheat breeding work in research and commercial roles will bring a new dimension to the AWC team and will build on my experience in both field and laboratory selection environments,” he explains.
“It has never been more important that the UK continues to develop new genetics for the future, and I look forward working with Bill Angus and the AWC team to be part of that future.”
